So who's going? I'm running Thurs/Fri.
Also...is there someone in charge of putting together a big DFW paddock location?

I believe we are still waiting for paddock system to open. If they do allow regional blocks i hope they are in the back of the site. Last two years paddock has been a cluster
I know that most of us have been very distracted as of late, but if anyone has plans of attending nationals this year and haven't registered yet there are just a couple days left before the price goes up considerably.
From the nationals registration site:
Registration Fee is $170 (ends 08/01/2014) - 11:59pm CDT)
Late Registration $308
I am tempted to take my under prep M3 in BSP.
Yep you need to go to the show, Ken O. You can beat that bunch
Absolutely Ken! Make the trip!!!
Kens car should be very competitive in BSP.
Should I try to add a spoiler?
Do you have time to test it? Do you even need it under 65 mph? Nats courses are slower than in the past.
Ok, signed up. We will see if work gets in the way.
I guess we should tell the FSAE, AM, BM, XP and SM guys that aero doesn't work :punchout:
No in all seriousness, even the limited aero you can run in SP makes a big difference. In a nutshell, it allows you to carry a slip angle while still staying on the gas. So instead of having to lift to wait for the rear to settle, you can stay in the gas. It's most helpful and noticeable at higher speeds. And again, is most beneficial in any high-speed transition (thread the needle, slalom, lane change, etc). But I bet mod cars are seeing benefit at as little as 20mph. I know when I ran an SM wing on my Evo before, I could feel a significant affect at 30mph.
Anyway, hope to see everyone there! And I fully expect that Ken will kick some butt!
Nowhere did I suggest that it doesn't work; I do teach physics. :) I asked if HE needed it (with his car setup) on lower speed courses. Compared to BMW autox courses.
Anyone know what days HS runs this year? PDF is not cooperating with my tablet.
Big class too, Mike. Come join the gangbang!
Just got the word, I'm in.
Anyone got a headcount yet? Sounds like TX region will be well represented again.
1.156 have signed up. Link to the list is below:

Last heat of the day on a fully rubbered-in surface. ::Drive2::
At least they were nice enough to put HS in the first heat. Maybe the car will actually make a few extra ponies in the morning air!
Last year we ran Th/Fri in the 4th heat (IIRC). OPR wasn't *that* big of deal...we just rolled it up with fingers and that was that. However, I did see the guys with slicks and the softball-size amount of OPR they would shave off the top. It was insane.

Courses look quite fast. Not sure how competitive I'll be.
Everybody drive safe. See you there.
Looks like a lot of locals did/are doing well, way to go guys and gals.
Looking at early PAX results shows just how bad the PAX numbers are this year. Radar shows rain in the area now so today times may not be a good indication. Looking at yesterday
Lane Borg 1st in BS, 151 out of 307 in pax
David Corsaro 1st in FS, 120 out of 307 in pax (I would have never picked the new Camaro as the car for FS)
Charles Kim 1st is SS, 130 out of 307
Mark Daddio 1st in AS, 104 out of 315
Greg Reno 1st in HS, 68 out of 315 highest placing Street driver
Eric Peterson 1st in ES, 77 out of 315
Mark Scroggs 1st in GS, 89 out of 315
I don’t see CS and DS in the pax results.
With names like Daddio and Borg, I don’t think you can say Street didn’t have any top drivers.
I hope that Rick makes some major changes to the numbers next year.
Yep. Unfortunately, I think HS will see a tougher pax next year. Based on how I've placed in local events recently and the success of those other local folks at Nats this year, I probably missed a very good opportunity to grab a trophy. Maybe next year. Still really excited to see so many TX Region names in the trophies.
I wish I could blame my results on the PAX, but bottom line I just haven’t been going fast enough.
OK, maybe just a little on PAX.
PAX is goofy on concrete sites. R-comps work so much better on concrete that one could make the argument that there should be a PAX for different surfaces. But I don't want to touch that topic with a 10ft pole.
Like others, I believe the street classes got conservative PAX numbers so the boat didn't get rocked too much. So now with a season of data to use, RR has a better idea of what should work. I suspect street gets a marginal softening after looking at results from everywhere. (IMO I think Lincoln is a bit of an outlier in regards to data points)
But here's my problem with that...I'm usually between 5-15 in pax at SCCA events. If my pax gets softened, it makes it easier for me to get into the top 5. But...do I think I'm a better driver than the Whiteners, Wortham, Madarash, Robbins, Orgeron, etc? Hell no.
