Perhaps they were sponsored by Jaguar? :jocolor:
Someone's looking for a job.
HAHAHAHAHA!
Reminds me of a joke I heard today at the bicycle shop...
Why do the English drink warm beer?
Lucas Refridgeration!
As a former owner of a Triumph TR6, I have lived many of these jokes!
The Lucas motto: "Get home before dark."
Lucas denies having invented darkness. But they still claim "sudden, unexpected darkness."
Lucas--inventor of the first intermittent wiper.
Lucas--inventor of the self-dimming headlamp.
The three-position Lucas switch--DIM, FLICKER and OFF. The other three switch settings--SMOKE, SMOLDER and IGNITE.
The original anti-theft devices--Lucas Electric products.
"I've had a Lucas pacemaker for years and have never experienced any prob...
If Lucas made guns, wars would not start either.
:bash: I'm so glad I have a miata instead of a much lesser british car. :D
Now, now for it's era the british made some really cool cars!Quote:

Miatas are identical to MGs. Same guy made them both
OTOH - back when I was in HS, the three of us who ran around together drove an Opel, a Renault, and an MGB. We pushed the Renault more than we ever drove it. The MGB ran great, between breakdowns. I couldn't kill the Opel. Ever see the rear wheels lock up like the WRC guys only from a down shift instead of E-braking? I did many times :ncool: As long as the rotor cap was dry, the Opel was the only dependable vehicle we had.
Hey...1T - was that the rallye they started at the Kracker Barrel in Mesquite? We ran that rallye.Quote:

And the "be home before dark" is so appropriate... It could run for about 30-45 minutes with teh headlights on before it wouldn't start again! I got really good at popping the clutch and learning to only park on a slope! ;)
Two words...Delco alternator.Quote:

Funny sorta related story...
When my wife and I got married, I owned a jet ski, and I spent almost every weekend either jet skiing or mountain biking. Pretty soon it became apparent to me that either one or the other had to go (not the wife - the ski or the bike  ). So, I sold the ski about six months after we got married. A few months after that, I sold the Tacoma 4x4 I was using as a daily driver, since I no longer needed to tow the ski. I bought a Honda Prelude... and discovered autocrossing.
I waste a lot more money and time racing than I ever did skiing.
So, whenever the SO complains about racing, I always remind her I could quit racing, but that would likely end up with me taking up another more expensive and time-consuming hobby. Like golf.
Don't even mention that...Quote:
