Actually it was filmed in the metromess. Irving, Los Colinas IIRC Look at some of the freeway signs. They should look familiar. Interestingly, the License plates only bear an American Flag so as to be state generic.

More Trivia, (Can you tell I love this movie?)

The guy that played Peter's neighbor also played the Self-Defence instructor in Napoleon Dynamite. (Another of my favorite movies)

The actor that played Milton was also in Dodgeball.

The now-famous Red Swingline Stapler was never a color offered by the company. It was painted red by the prop dept. After the movie came out, Swingline was innundated with calls requesting a Red Swingline Stapler. They finally produced one although it varies slightly from the one seen in the movie.

We have two identical pop art paintings above our sofa painted by an artist friend of ours. They are a white canvas with just a 3/4 view of a Red Stapler and are entitled, "Milton".

Hey I split off this Officespace stuff to it's own post. ;)

I was in school down in Austin when they were filming this movie. I am in my buddy's beat up 1980s Toyota Celica in the traffic scene. We were extras. Sat in made up traffic all day. You get to see the car but not our heads.

Peter's apartment was a friend of a friend's. He was an architectural engineer and a scout came by his complex. He showed her around his place then a week later Mike Judge came over, liked it, and they filmed there. Said is was a nice blend of single guy yet cleanliness.

Milton was also Jimmy James in News Radio.

Lawrence, Peter's neighbor, was also on the Drew Cary show.

Lumbergh was the commentator in Dodgeball, & is also the voice of Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law.

North Lamar in Austin. You can see that the sign at the bus stop is for Capitol Metro.

The apartment was up in Far West, a college apartment area in North Austin. I don't remember which one as they all look the same. It's like the village here in Dallas.

the traffic scene in the begining was (partly) filmed on 635 near n dallas pkwy
i know this because of the buildings in the background.
now, if some other traffic scenes were done else where, that probly true too. :cool:

According to IMDB.com, the movie was shot in and around Dallas.

Mike Judge, the director, grew up in the area... however, the site also states that the restaurant scenes were in Austin.

They could have easily placed set pieces to make it look like any bus/metro system they wanted.

That will be good. The original DVD had nothing extra. I saw that office space was with the original movies that had sequels coming out this summer. THey had a special place for them. I didnt think it was Office Space2. It must have just been to hype the new DVD.
