Yeah I drove by it the other night on the way to my sisters.. The whole town of Cresson smells horrible.. but hey.. the track looks cool :D
No, but I'll see if I can either get one, or talk Bob into flying over and getting some aerial pix once the rest of the asphalt is down.Quote:

for you to get an idea. Primary direction will be CCW. You can't
tell much about the elevation, but this might help. Entering from
pit road, You're in a decreasing radius turn, that starts the
downhill. There's a bit of a jog in the middle but not much to be
concerned about in a Miata. At the bottom of the hill is a pretty
tight left hander, that will require some significant braking (I see
this as the most obvious "off" corner). From there, it stays flat
until the hairpin, where you climb rapidly during that turn, then
more slowly as you climb to the top. The esses are a non-event, just
head for the left side of the track at the top. You cannot see where
the track goes as you're climbing, but plan to apex at the top, maybe
a bit over it, as the track goes left for a bit. You're going back
down now, heading for the carousel, which starts climbing again.
Once thru the carousel, the rest is pretty flat The next turn is a
very late apex left hander to the front straight. The front straight
contains one bend, similer to Ricochet, but flat and wide. Now when
you get to turn one, you'll see that it is rather tricky....surprised
me....twice! Stay on the right shoulder and apex very, very late
What makes it so tricky, is the fact that it is decreasing radius
plus starting down the hill. ENJOY :)
OK......this site seems to be having problems today. Will try and send the picture later.....
Server seems a bit slow this morning... Hopefully you'll be able to upload the pics later on today, as I know we're all looking forward to seeing them!
AHHHHHHHH! It was all I could do to keep from scrolling down to the pic as I read. With anticipation at its high point, I learn that there is no pic. ::Drive2::
When I try and upload the pix, I get a "cannot find the page...." No, it's not too large - 182K
Now you are just toying with me.. I look at Who's Online and it tells me MadMerv is "Managing Attachments". Come over here to see the pic (again) and this is what i get? ARGGGGQuote:

Picture from Merv! ::Afro::

Very nice. Has a Magny-cours shape. I am interested to see how the two tracks connect. I can see the very edge of the pitlane from MSR1 on the far right. The north end looks fairly fast.
Exiting Rattlesnake is now a full throttle sweeper to the right. The 'line' will be modified slightly(later apex), just after the top left since you don't have that sharp left at the bottom. Entry back to the old track comes in to the exit of Wagon Wheel just where you start climbing. I will also be pretty fast, but the exciting part will be Ricochet with another thirty mph......Quote:

Here is a smaller picture with some call-outs
http://www.trackdogracing.com/msr-b-track-sm.jpg
Photo does no justice to the elevation changes. According to Jack he says there is a 70 foot elevation change (old track has 30 foot difference).
Its going to be challenging but a nice change of pace.
The connections to the old track seem to be a bit narrow IMHO.
Stop it!
I just salivated on my keyboard.::Spit::
VERY nice! This one's gonna be worth the wait!
Is ths Heaven?::Angel::
Hey! That looks kewl. I don't have access to photochop at the office, so I just sent the raw picture. I'll try and do better on the other twenty or thirty that I took :) The tie-in sections are also 39' wide. It's just an optical illusion, as are several areas on the course. It is all 3x13' passes with the blacktop machine. :drive:Quote:

I tried to get Jack to adopt me, but he said it wouldn't work since I was older than him. Then, I thought, perhaps I should knock him off and marry Sharon...........who says there's no heaven on earth :) Kidding, of course Jack! :clap:Quote:

If we have any luck, some of the elevation changes might get us airborn - I wanna go streets of San Fancisco on this thing.
Also, there needs to be a better name for these tracks. #1, #2, East, West lacks any character.
How about......
"Cyclone" for the new track.
Don't you have to be south of the equator to have a cyclone? I actually don't know what the naming conventions will be. Whatever Jack wants, I suppose :)Quote:

Only thing he said was that downhill run after the pit on might be called "pipeline" since they hit a bunch of pipes when grading the terrain.
The uphill corner (signature turn) should be named something special :)
When its all hooked together it should be a little over 3 minutes long for a street prep Miata. With lots of diiferent things coming at yah over the 3 plus miles of track :burnrubr:
I got to see the track in person last week and can verify that the picture does not do the elevation changes justice. It looks very fun. I hope that I will ge to try it out some time in the near future. One thing I did find out about is that there will most likely be bariers put up around the track at certain curves.
Very nice!
So Merv, when are we having that track day again?
More pictures
more
Those first two pictures let you see some of that elevation. The new track looks wicked cool and much more challenging than the 1st track.
Thanks for the pictures Merv. :burnrubr:
I believe it might be time to start kissing some member ass to get some guest time on the new track.
I'm waiting......

I wonder if the pits are going to meet the requirements to hold some larger sanctioned events. Would be nice to see something like the Speed challenge series or SCCA runoffs local. If only he could build a crap load of seating...maybe get the ALMS to come back to Texas!
Never happen. That's not what MSR is all about..............it's a place to play with your toys   :clap:Quote:

That is going to be one tight small course! ::Flag:: :drive: ::Flag::
I predict it won't be to popular with the Vettes, Vipers and other heavy, high HP cars but should be fun, challenging and and even a bit scary for the Miatas, Shifter Carts, Motorcycles and other light and nimble vehicles.
I wonder what an average track time will be compared to Track 1?
 I can't waiT!!!!!! Gonna be fun. :drive: ::Flag::
