I think I'm going to go, too... now that I know the IRL race is Saturday night.
Here's a link to the Maverick PCA's online Events page. Porsche Club autocrosses are probably most like NTS2kOC autocrosses - typically 8 runs, four in the morning and four in the afternoon, with morning and afternoon sessions separated by a lunch break. Runs are done in the same manner, with "hot" groups of 6-8 cars doing all of their runs for that heat before the next group of cars is brought up. The courses are fun, the people are great, and it's local (Pennington). The only downside is that you will have to run top-up if you don't have a roll bar.
Any other non-Divisional peeps interested?
As a Proud member of Team Cheap Bastard. How much is it to run a Porsche Event??
Maybe me.....more info to follow.Quote:

Screw it. Can't go a week without autocrossing, now can I? See you guys on Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!

I plan to be there, but probably just to watch and meet people. Short on $ this week, so I probably wont be driving.
How much is this event going to cost? I need to break into my :pig: bank. :wink:Quote:

FWIW, JRW told me he thought it was $25-$30.Quote:

Looks like I'm not going to make it tomorrow, so you boys have fun out there. This damned furniture refinishing project my wife decided to start this weekend is definitely going to consume most of tomorrow, just like it consumed most of today. :?
Well I woke up about a half-hour too late... and during my rush to get out of the house and feeding the animals the damned gerbil got loose. It took me all morning to fish that little animal out of the guest bedroom. Luckily the cats didnt see him otherwise I'd have a real mess on my hands. I hope you fellas had a good time!
Sounds like the kitties don't like fast food...Quote:

That it was! It was the most 'unique' course I've run on in my short career! Congrats to tailchaser for best time amongst us Miatae pilots! :thumleft:Quote:

Nice write-up tailchaser! I think you covered it all! 8) Any more pics lurking about anywhere?Quote:

I suck at names but I was nice talking with several of the folks who stopped by for visit like JohnSilverNB, and the nice folks from Hurst who just got their white NB!
It was also nice meeting Vallhala & son of Vallhala. Kinda felt badly for son of Vallhala he must have had a really bad instructor, because he didn’t run the afternoon session!
I still think the top up rule sucks for an autocross at Pennington, but seeing the Boxsters go by with there tops up also made me fell a little better!
Nice article Tailchaser! I had a great time Sunday too. It was great to meet you guys finally! Son of Valhalla really enjoyed his first autocross and he had a great first-time instructor :D
Good article TC, and driving too, :chug:. It was fun competition.
FYI, that course layout was A-typical for the PCA events. While there are usually some tight areas, this layout was an excersize in patience and throttle control- which I did not master. for those that did not attend, a good pic of my car indicating the degree of turning is found in TC's article mentioned above....multiply that by 6 or 7 turns . There was a lot of work being done inside the cockpits that day.Quote:

No doubt... I feel like I spent all day yesterday swimming instead of driving...Quote:

Next, the suttle 'slap in the face' to POS with the dino reference was fun too....see article.
Wow... there are even a BUNCH of photos
8) Nice pictures! Anybody get one of the three-wheeled Porsche? :shock:Quote:
