It isnt that low here, but it is getting there. Any idea if it will go up tomorrow for people leaving town for labor day?
I'll shit a brick if it ever goes less than $2.
And that's a big if.
I was watching this old movie the other day and the gas was .67 I couldn't believe it.
The 7-11 at Hebron and the 121 bypass.
I'll bet Merv remembers when gas was free with cigarettes.
$2.36 in Pilot Point this morning...
I think down around Grandview or Hillsborro and again about VAN OR TYLER
it was 2.30
And to think in 1972-73 it was only 35 cents
I'm giving away my age here, but I remember traveling cross country with the family as a kid, and my dad would't stop if gas was $.59, as he put it, they were gouging us! haha
I worked at a Fina station in Gainesville, TX in 1967. We were in a "gas war" with a Premier station at the other end of the block. IIRC gas went down to $0.179/gal.
And, we did have pink air.
I remember paying 64.9 cents in Waco, back in 1991 after we kicked Sadam's butt the first time. http://www.websmileys.com/sm/crazy/033.gif
Petrol is down to $2.30 out in Garland now.
Even as young as I am, I remember gas being as cheap as $.70 as late as '97!
I remember when I was a kid. Think it was .21 to .22 cents a gallon. To put that in perspective. If you filled up the Cadillac with 18 gallons it only cost $3.76. AND you got a free 20 ounce glass with full service.
Before the Cadillac we had one of these.

When I was a kid with a mini-bike, I remember gas for less than 25 cents a gallon. I could fill-up my mini-bike (lawn mower engine), give the attendant (before self-serve) a quarter and get change back! :bigsmurf:
Looks like 51, If I understand the hieroglyphics correctly.

At 114 & 377 in wal mart. $2.33
I've noticed that us premium guys are getting screwed... When prices were really high, there was about a 15 cent spread between 87 and 93... now the spread is looking more like 25 cents around me.
$2.25 Fairway Oil in Sherman, TX
Think $1.15 is not possible? It may not be far off!
And mind you, we've had a couple of hurricanes already threaten the coast lines, BP found more corrosion, BP also had a small spill and still no bump in price.
We can only hope!
When Trina and I were first dating, I could fill the Miata for $13. I've paid $30 to fill it recently. :punchout:
Not to bring politics into the discussion, but I wonder if the upcoming election is having an effect. Keeping the prices down.
Reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw today that had me laughing...
