Woot! Made the top 10... but I'm surprised... the incremental cost (on my insurance carrier) to go from the Miata to the S2000 was only like $15/month...
The STi would have been cheaper for me to insure than the RSX is. Stupid kids in their RSX's ::Censor::
Pretty much. Theft rates are high too I believe. Even in nice neighborhoods. A guy that was staying not 5 minutes from me in Las Colinas had his stolen out of an extremely nice, gated apartment community.
Interesting. I can tell you that our 05' Murano costs twice as much to insure as a '92 Miata, yet still less than our '00 MPV was. Alas, none made the list so I guess I should consider myself lucky. ;-)
Odd The State Farm evaluation tool provided at that link rates the MPV with an A for Liability and an A for Damage. The Murano gets a BB. I guess Travelers doesn't use the same research as State Farm.
Also right above that chart it says something about the most expensive collision losses . My wreck was $7200 worth of damage, and it was relatively minor.
I'm screwed either way due to my age. My 93 cost me $97/month with more coverage than was probably needed. The Jeep was $160/month. My RSX... $225 ::Bawl:: 20 more months and I'll be back to ~$100/month.
Something's screwy about that report. There own tool rates the S2000 and A-E and the Civic 2d an E-E, yet the civic didn't make the list.
Quote:
Liability Rating Index (Liability) -- Index of bodily injury and property damage liability premium.
Damage and Theft Index (Damage/Theft) -- Index of collision and comprehensive premium.
A -- charged significantly lower-than-standard premium
B -- charged somewhat lower-than-standard premium
C -- charged standard premium
D -- charged somewhat higher-than-standard premium
E -- charged significantly higher-than-standard premium
I would have guessed that some of the aluminium bodied luxo barges would have made the list due to the high cost of panel replacement.
Hmmmm, the 00' MPV isn't that much more per month than the 96' Accord it replaced, and I bumped up the coverage???? USAA rocks.
Just turn 25 Adam it helps a lot. Shoot you may be 25 by now, I forget to age people over the years.
May 28, 2008 for me... lol

Turning 21 and getting married worked for me, after both happened & ended up paying a 3rd of what I did previousely.
That was with Geico though, Progressive is a little more expensive, but still around a 3rd of what it was.
Ill find out if being 25 works as good as they say it does next year.
I think I pay $470ish every 6 months for full coverage on Magma, but it is listed as a pleasure vehicle
With Geico I was paying $88/ month for both the Element, & the Miata, full coverage on the E, liability on the Miata. With Progressive I pay around $120/ month for the same setup.
The Civic Si was a whopping $71 more per year than the MSM. ::Banana::
S.
BTW: This smilie is sick sick sick: ::BaHump::
$93/month on my......ummmmm- saturn, with nothing negative on my record.
