Found one with 39000 miles and in outstanding condition with all the service records. Its a 6 cylinder with leather. Edmunds says between 11000 -12900. He wants 12900 so there is some wiggle room. Does this sound good?

For you or the wife?
Its for Suzan......for now:D
Its actually her that is griping. I bought some gloves and shoes for the track yesterday and she brought up the fact that if she had to wait a few years for a 1 series she might as well get something now.
Just tell her to get back in the kitchen and not worry about it... ;)
Too much money. Unless you can pay cash.
She's reading this over my shoulder and says to kiss her a** She also said Magma was a lousy driver heehee and a punk.
Is that you '3 bean'?.....You disappoint me-( But still think your cool.....Suzan
::Banana::
What the hell, Suzan? You drive the piss out of the miata at hallett, and you want a Z3?
NOT COOL.
Ok...she is on her own computer now looking at 07 retractable hard tops....like that is going to happen ::Censor:: Marble white with a tan interior yuch
Get a nice 3 series, like the one Sammm may be selling soon.
She says convertible only....its a bling thing ya know:rolleyes:
Screw the Z3... ///M Roadster on the other hand ::BaHump::
There are a couple of service bulletins on the Z3 rear suspension that has been a real issue on autocross cars. If you look in the trunk, make sure ther is no separation on the floor of the trunk. Somethink in the way that the rear axle is atached to the car has been in the Z3 forums.
I have a friend who had to have the sevice bulletin done on his Z3. He cracked the barcket that supports the rear end.
Radioactive is right. Some of the Z3s have rear subframe issues.
BTW, the price is not too bad, but I think if you keep searching I think you can find one cheaper. I think the Z3 is a very fun car and with the 6-cyl, it will be a lot of fun to drive.
I really miss that BMW I-6 torque. The 6 cyl Z3 is a pretty quick car, but the M roadster is a beast.
Why not spring for a 07 3-series? It is better than the M3 they were selling last year!
Repeat after me:
No Z3...no Z3...no Z3!!
Ya know what would be even better would be a Classic RX7 convertible, if you could ever find one! ::Banana::

Hey, I've got a buddy of mine selling his 1998 Z3 I-6 w/leather. He hasn't yet posted it anywhere, as being ForSale, but he said it was time to sell it. It's garaged and is a 3rd wheel, so not driven daily. It is a real cream Puff. PM me if you want his number.
TD
Update: my buddies is a '98, 2.8L I-6, 80,000 miles, all sorts of accessories, Elect Windows/locks, 6CD Changer in trunk, power top, rear Window Cover, CC, Elect Seats, 5spd. He said he'd take $12,500, possibly negotiable.
