At first look, it doesn't look too bad. The airbags popped though ::Rant:: Bumper, radiator supports, radiator/condenser, rim/tire, and who knows what else.

You okay? I just got my car back so I feel your pain.
Duuuuude... that sucks.
Did the other vehicle even stop?
What's the story? What happened?
It doesn't look bad at all...shocking how much damage was done. :(
I'm fine, have a sore thumb (there's a blood spot under the nail, lol).
I was in the far right (turning) lane, car was in the far left, decided he wanted my lane, I braked hard, and plowed straight into one of those concrete "dividers" that are at intersections to break-up the straight lanes from the turning ones. This was at 30 and Griffin.
I also forgot to add in control arms, though that's pretty obvious with how bad the rim is.
Dude that sucks. I got run off the road one time in my old car and I hit something hard on the underside. Got lucky though no airbags. Sorry to hear about it.
One thing that was kind of ironic.... I have free towing w/ my warranty, so I used it. The guy that came out looked at my car, and started telling me about a blue RSX that he towed the night before. That was a guy on CRSX that got hit from behind and pushed into the guardrails on the west-bound 183 bridge exit from 360. His impact was around 50 or so, and he swapped ends a few times, hitting both the left and right guard rails. No airbag deployment though.
:burnrubr: You need new tires.
Yes, yes I do ::Clown:: I was going to get T1-R's as soon as my tax refund came in.
Yeah, they are just at the wear bars right now, so they're still decent.
Dood, no way! That totally sucks. ::Yikes:: I'm glad you're alright, but it sounds like the damage to your RSX won't be cheap to repair.
S.
The other car didn't stop; I should have let him plow into me. I can't wait to see what my insurance is going to cost now
Does this go down as an "at fault" accident? Most people don't drive into dividers for no reason. It seems more similar to a hit and run, where another driver was clearly at fault but drove off.
Do you think he or she knew you wrecked?
S.
It's going under collision :( I need to call and ask if it's going to be at fault, but I think it is.
I don't think they knew I was there, just kept on going like nothing happened
That sucks Adam. You have the worst luck with cars. I feel for you.
I'm having a Deja Vu moment ;-)
that caster looks f'd. have me align it asap to see if the subframes bent.
edit: once the alignment machine is back to normal...
I'll be in for tires/alignment as soon as I get it back.
In other shitty news, a friend of mine just called me, and his RSX was hit last night as well, while parked in front of his house. Not a good week for DFW RSX's :punchout: (that's 3 in 3 days, fwiw).
man you just need to get rid of that car it's cursed.
any word on the oiling problem?
lol, yeah, it's "normal" to burn as much as I did. If the leak-down shows any major variances, the rebuild should take care of it. I'm pretty sure it's the valves letting oil by, and not the rings.
And I don't think it's the car, I think it's me... :( Seems to follow me from car to car, even the Jeep couldn't get out w/o something happening to it.
where is a ghost head when I need one?LOL
Just a heads up, but you may want to avoid Deep Ellum April 6th-8th. ;)
That reminds me, I need to put up (when I get home) that photoshop picture I did a while ago ::Clown::
I don't have the itemized list, but.... $8300 ::BaHump::
Goooo! Let me guess, one of the big ticket items is a subframe.
Airbags... and the radiator core supports. I'll get the list Monday morning, but I don't think the sub-frame got hit.
That was what I figured was the big ticket item. Airbags deployed on my 1995 T-Bird back in 1999 were estimate by the insurance adjuster at $4500 to replace.
I have fired airbags electrically in the past (no collision damage) and twice the repairs included replacing the entire dash. The metal structure of the dash got bent by the passenger bag. Plus all the trim pieces, the bags themselves, windshield - it adds up in a hurry.
Now add in a wheel or two, front bumper repairs, etc, if you say, get run off the road...
Sorry to hear about it Adam. Hope you get it all put back together soon!
