I'm in!
WooHoo - stinkin neon is in DS ::Banana::Quote:

I'm in... for event 1 and the school!
Oh hell yeah!
I'm in.
I am sorely tempted. So far I would be the only NC out there (though I understand that the 6spd NC's are less than optimum for AutoX).
Anyone know how full the school is so far? My main hangup is that I have a design project due that following Monday, and I think it's going to wind up being a mad dash for the finish.
You can check dlbracing.com for school availability, or you can go to the Texas Region website-- autocross.com/texasregion.
They just have a list up for the 18th not the 17th, but I will assume that since the school also includes the following Sunday then the number signed up for the school is equal to or less than the number signed for Sunday.
What I have heard is that with the 6 speed, you have to constantly shift from 2nd to 3rd. Whereas with the 5 speed you can just put it in 2nd gear for the whole course.

What will hurt more is that I lack the LSD option. I was a student looking for a deal so I got an '06 in December, so I didn't get the pick of the litter.
I'm in and going to be tryin' out some new gadgets and gear.
I will be there in Iains car again. Hopefully I can redeem myself in BS, lol.
Oh don't worry anyone who drives his car can't go faster than him (trust me I know) :)
If by some snowballs chance in hell I get the day off work I'll daytrip it up there and run the Jetta in GS (worst case), or borrow a certain promised suburu :p
Speaking of which....anyone coming to Houston the following weekend? (last one in March) We have a Saturday practice and a Sunday event.
How about Einsteins at 7 AM?
Well, where ever you guys eat, I'll be there.
Ok, so where is it tomorrow -- McDonalds or Einsteins?
That might have been the smoothest SCCA event to which I have been, especially when you consider all of the novices and the number of people there. I also liked the shortened drivers meeting. Kudos.
Now, about that Lotus...
Good times.
Another fine event by the folks at SCCA. Fun course with very little delay during the course of the day. Great work!
Props to jrj512 for taking 2nd in Street Tire and to onething for taking third. Stinkin' Loti!
PS
Stay tuned for info on a limited edition magnet/decal. :cat: (Thanks Mark52!)
Better to be beaten by an Elise than a stinkin neon ;)
I can't believe how well the whole event ran. Thanks to all those wearing orange shirts and their helpers.
I had a great time at a great event. Thanks to the SCCA people.
I even finished second in ES, oh wait, the Old Bull and I were the only E stockers.
I was impressed with how smoothly things ran today as well. Heck, I was packe dup and ready to head home by about 2:30!
Thanks Doug ! What a rush.
And as I predicted, I was in the computer lab for the afternoon wrapping up my project. Maybe next time.
I think I qualify, count me in!
Good times, first trip to Pennington, nice venue, I esp. liked being able to watch the runs. Great show! Tip of the cap to the SCCA crew!
Thanks to cone-cerned for showing the way (and back!)! Should of took the offer on the tires ::Censor::

This was my first event ever and I must say I had a great time! I look forward to many more... also I think that I may have gotten my dad interested. Last night he was asking me what this and that cost and how many events there were.....
I forgot to mention the very brief driver's meeting. Best improvement ever! ::ConeUP
PS
Here's a video from the Lotus driver who won street tire yesterday.
