I'm taking Trina to her first ever rock concert, Marilyn Manson. Should she be worried?
BTW, We both enjoy his music. Anyone know when Disturbed will be on tour? ;)

Well, what a way to be introduced... that's awesome. Took wife to see KISS for Mother's day a few years back. When you find out when Disturbed is in town, let us know... we would like to see them as well.
I won't get into this one... ;)
Two words: Contact High
OK... talked to BJ... seems I mixed 2 different concerts... she saw Hole with Marilyn Manson. Robb Zombie was a different concert and was with Korn. She said that everyone was very respectful and she felt perfectly safe.
Funny... there was a time when that was the norm at almost all concerts. My first concert 21 years ago was Huey Lewis and the News. It was also my first contact high. :D
Gone are the days of Fugazi and Social D- those were actually "fun" pits... not just dudes trying to dot each others eye.
just to let you know, because you like some of manson's music don't mean you will like him live.
not sure if he's cut back but last time i saw him there was male anal insertions on stage (not man on man but man on wine bottle :pukel:)and that was tame compared to some of the things later in the show. The opening band was Jack of Jill and they did far more disturbing things.
good luck and ware a full body condom.
Every Mosh Pit I have been in has been violent including the Metallica (old days) when they had Megadeth's (now) lead singer in the group and before they were complete and total sell outs, who have liquid gold running through their veins and have to sue their fans (me) over 1 song off an album I bought 9 times and is out of print but was originally released as a bootleg by the band intself to promote their music.......I hate Metallica.
I saw Manson back around 2001 I think and it was not so bad. I'm not so much into Slayer and the opening band.
sometimes it gets more wild than others. id stay away from the stage in case its one of the times he feels like pissing on the crowd.
I can see Titus in a mosh pit...
When I went to college in Indiana, my buddy from New Mexico and I would attend some sweet concerts. However, every time the most pit would start and he'd make a move to it, it would shut down and start up somewhere else.
Of course, I failed to mention that Hoser (as we called him) was 6'7", about 300 lbs of muscle and every bit a Mescalero Apache. He wore all black and had long black and grey hair... a real sight in a mosh pit!
Somehow, this is a world I don't want to see...... The only concert I ever went to was Karen Carpenter! Oh well, to each his own.
Yep.. BJ and I both appreciate a wide variety of music. We were at the Pink/Justin Timberlake show in February, and she went to the Tim McGraw/Faith Hill show last night. I have seen everyone from Willie Nelson to Public Enemy, to The Who. She tends to see a lot more concerts these days then I do though... I got pretty burnt out on live shows when I worked at a radio station in my previous career. Doing promotions at 60 concerts (closer to 100 when you consider a large percentage of them did 2 show in a night of which I was usually there for both) can do that to you.
Say what you want about his comedy, but Gallagher is one of the nicest, most down to earth performers I have ever met. He sought out us radio guys to hang out with before the show (said he could only hear the same stories from his roadies so many times :D ), and he hung out with the audience for over an hour after the show posing for pictures and signing autographs.
A friend took me to a Manson concert in Ft. Worth back in '99 or so. It was a good show, very theatrical and quite entertaining even though I only knew 2 or 3 of his songs. Never felt unsafe, either. Great people watching, too :D
Concert was good. Trina liked it a lot. I thought it was just ok. We got there later as we had no real interest in the opening band.
We arrived about an hour late at 8pm. Glad we brought earplugs. We could hardly hear each other but we heard the music just fine. ::Whisp::
The crowd was well behaved. We never felt unsafe. ::Chair:: You could certainly tell the Slayer fans from the Manson fans though. ;) Some drunk guy chatted us up for a bit. We also had some sweet smelling smoke around us. ::hippi::
Slayer played until a bit after 9pm. The were loud and the music was pretty good if you like hard metal. ::rock:: The show was typical rock concert with lots of lights but no explosions. ::Blowup::
Manson started at 10:15pm but only played until 11:30pm. ::Bean:: His theatrics were minimal but the music was good. It just wasn't the same as what I saw several years ago. Kind of tame like his latest CD. ::BS::
Can you get fired for second hand dope? :o
Yes he could. If it shows up on the test.
Don't ask me how I know, but in the Army you need to have at least a 25 ng concentration in order for them to try to prove use. A strong contact high will show at most 15 ng if measured within the first 48 hrs after exposure. The test they use has a error margin of ~+/-10 ng.
