they closed the track in july/august and did a lot of work on the long straight (where most of the bumpiness was). It's a lot smoother (but a bit slicker IMO) than it was before... except at the beginning of the straight. There's a bump there.

They also cleaned up turn 1 and 2, which used to be like moguls.

I thought that this was a fairly new track

Who's going Saturday? I've never been there and wouldn't mind following someone there, I'm leaving from Lewisville.

It is, but there was a lot of breakup in the asphalt, so some sections have been replaced with concrete to handle the heat/heaving of the ground.

Okay, I'm in for Sunday. I'll try not to cough on anyone.

Yea, the story of the grading and pavement at that track is tragic.

It's always pandemonium on the track when you're around Trey.

I sent Maggie an email asking for a rough headcount for each day.

I'm trying to exit the track/enter the grass at speeds under 80mph on Sunday...unlike last time. Its easier this way.

What is the SM lap record here? I need to know which restroom I'll be using...and its tough to sit at the urinal to make #1.

    Where did you hear that?

Probably will be pandemonium with the parts falling off your flying turd.

    A twice-removed mutual, Nigerian e-friend told me.

This is totally uncalled for and disrespectful. If you ever saw my car on the track you'd know that parts don't fall off, it pours money on the track.

No, it just drags parts along the track making sparks. The parts don't actually fall off.

Here's an excerpt from the instructor email I just received:

we have over 50 cars for both Saturday and Sunday. After reviewing the participant list we are going to run two car groups, one for the first time participants, those that have never driven ECR and a group for those that have experience at ECR. We will start the day off with lead follow for the first time drivers then move to those with experience using both lead follow and in car instruction for those that request. Bikes will run next in the rotation and sessions will be 20 minutes for all groups. We will not allow any passengers in guest cars other than instructors and we have moved the first instructor session prior to lunch.
