I am looking at the RODE NTK tube mic for recording but, planing on using the Senn for live shows...I guess it depends on how good it sounds if I use it for recording too.
I am using other musicians (friends) to help me on some of the other parts (drums) and maybe bass will probably do the leads myself if I can do it well enough.

It's been hard holding on to the SC/IC $, when I could buy a full out studio with the cash...lol.

Well, I got my Sennheiser in and did a couple of gigs with it then did a side by each review of the senn md 431 and my old senn 835.
Mics are an extremely subjective thing, as each person's voice is different.
bottom line for me the old 835 sounds much much more crisp and clear with a better low end punch, the senn 431 can handle incredible levels before feedback but sounds more muddy even with shelving eq adjustments.
got the other stuff in just waiting to get my computer to run the studio then I will be set.
I am thinking of ordering a Rode ntk mic now in place of the senn. for studio recording.

OH, check out the Mackie unit...should anyone need some recording done I can bring the pod to you and hook it up to your laptop and get stellar audio files.
