Default Anyone else start school this week?

Fall semester started for me on monday, anyone else start this week? 15 hours this fall: History of Rock and Roll, Masterpieces of Music, Spanish 2302, The Vietnam War, and my senior seminar in History. Kind of a full load, but I'm done in May and I should only have to take 13 hours in spring.

Geez that had to be any easy class since rock & roll had been around for what about a month before you took the class?

Haha... This was '91 or '92, and when you asked the teacher about music from the 80's, he would tell you that the ONLY artist that made music worth talking about in the 80's was Prince. Pre-1980, the teacher seemed to feel that there was The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Smokey Robinson, and then everybody else. One of the questions on the final was "What is the best rock and roll song ever?". The teacher was 100% positive that the answer to this question was not debatable. Good Vibrations is the best song ever, period. Luckily, everyone was very aware of his feelings on this, as we spent 3 weeks dissecting the song.

History of rock and roll is definitely a fun class. The first day of class, some kid comes in with a guitar strapped to his back, ends up that's the professor. Another professor comes in with another guitar and together they give a brief history of blues music in the 1920's, followed by a live concert of 20's blues music. The only bad part is there are something like 500 people in the class.
