Default FS: Char Broil Commercial Series natural gas grill

One of my friends moved off to California and had to leave his grill behind. I would buy it in a heartbeat but it runs off of natural gas, and there is no conversion kit available to make it run off of propane bottles (there is a difference in the air-bleed jets, apparently, and someone craftier than me could probably sort it out). However, if you have a gas hookup at your house (like an old built-in outdoor grill), this would be a helluva nice unit to have. My buddy had an outdoor gas hookup installed for about $75.

So here's the info... It's got all the right stuff, such as cast brass burners (4 under the grill + 1 side burner), electric start on all burners, stainless steel bar grills, a work surface on one side, and a built-in cabinet underneath. It's in great shape, although it could stand to be cleaned up a bit. As for price, he said start at $350... obo, of course.

I did my own recon, and this grill is made of much better stuff than newer grills - every one I saw at Lowe's the other day had sheet metal burners and 99% had crappy non-stainless grills. The cast brass burners won't rust, and they won't burn out over time. The stainless grills look like 3/8" bar stock to me - very nicely fabbed, and they come out in three sections. New Char Broil grills do not have electric ignition on all burners (there is but one ignition burner). Yes, you can buy a new grill for $400, but it won't last like this one will. IMHO, this is a better grill than the $1,000 Jenn Air unit you can buy at Lowe's.

I'll post pix when I can get them (if I get some bites), but here's one from the Char Broil website - model number 463252205:

Hmmmm I vaguely remember the previous owner of my house telling me there was a natural gas hookup somewhere out in my backyard, it was supposed to be for the spa, but then the pool was installed backwards or something so they never used it.

Bring your metal detector and shovel over and help me find it. Then we'll talk.

Hmmm... don't you have a pick-axe we could use instead?

I'm over closer to him and have more than one White's detector. Which model do you have and have you been over to their forum? I'm a moderator over there.

I have a Whites Spectrum XLT which was serviced by Whites for my birthday this last July. They replaced my coil at the same time with a brand new coil.

I would say they are a top notch company.

I haven't been to the Whites forum.

What good is a metal detector that goes 100' below the surface?

Tell ya what Raymond, I'll make you a good deal on one of these:

It'll reach 100 feet with ease... but it might make a mess of whatever you find down there.
