I'm not sure how a busted motor mount is going to cause the car to pull from one side to the other on acceleration and deceleration, how would that work?
Are both tires on the rear the same brand and age?
Which of your cars has this issue?
What's the best way to check out motor mounts? I'm used to checking them on automatics by parking against a curb and bumping the throttle while the brakes are on, watching for engine movement. Never tried this method with a manual though.
Symptoms are when accelerating there is a tendency to pull to the left, when letting off pedal it pulls back to the right. Makes for a kind of floaty feeling when shifting. Already ruled out tire pressure. Also there seems to be excessive movement of the shifter when throttling up and letting off.

No I did not. Put the car on ramps, and pried on the motor a bit and all seemed fine didn't get any excessive movement. YMMV
Has the 94 received a BAM Alignment yet?
No alignment yet, actually that was the first thing I thought of when it felt all floaty-like. Only later I realized it was torque related. And it's not like it pulls you off the road or anything, but there's this constant compensating with steering whenever accelerating or decelerating.
Heck it's only money, change the motor mounts and let us know the results.![]()
Could one of your contol arm bushings be bad.
Hmm what is decent? Are we talking about your decent or my decent? I'm just curious because I don't want to offend anyone else's decent...
Here's a link to an article about replacing the motor mounts.

The engine torque's to the right, so the left motor mount would be first to go, and the car would want to go to the right, not left. Doesn't sound like a motor mount, but chances are they are broken anyway. More likely a problem in the rear. Go see AJ(Bam) and go from there.......

Nothing yet. Confirmed it's not the motor mounts, very little movement at all there. I checked out all the front end components, other than split boots on the ball joints, I can't really see anything out of the ordinary. the tie rods seem pretty easy to turn, I'm not sure if the amount of play is normal or not.
Didn't have enough time to check out the rear end, so maybe I'll find something there.
Could it be the diff mounts?
