Thread: Big loss to AX community

Default Big loss to AX community

Just got this from Matt/Texas Region:

Tom Ramey collapsed and died while at work today. Tom worked at DynCorp near Alliance airport.

I know that some of you have a long history with Tom going back to the Austin days. I'm sure this will get around the autocross community pretty quickly, but please pass it on to other folks who were close to Tom.

I am stunned. I suppose details of the arrangement will follow.

That's really sad. The name doesn't really ring a bell, did he race in the TX region frequently?

Shocking. Tom was a friend to all and would do anything to help a new comer, like myself, better understand the sport. I hate that I did not get a chance to show him my new car. Chris and I will miss him very much.

Shocking -- and terrible -- news. My sympathy and condolences go out to Tom's family.

I was afraid of that I will be half way to Midland by the time the service starts.

I just called the funeral home. This will be the only service. I will be there in spirit.

If you can't make it to the funeral and want to do something, here is a scholarship fund you can donate to.

The Steve Willis Scholarship Fund. It is sponsored at Texas State University. The address is 601 University Drive, San Marcos, TX 78666. It is for students who want to become policemen.

    Also, here is his address.

    Tom and Cyndi Ramey
    RAMJET Enterprises
    6700 Red Bud Road
    Fort Worth, Texas 76135-5330

    Tom, you will be missed.

According to the funeral home, Tom will be cremated so Sunday is a memorial service. They recommended cut flowers or a green plant.

Added after reading Matt's post: Thank you for the information Matt......I think that's an excellent way to honor Tom.
