Yea the Dallas Morning News had a write up a few days ago. Some cool designs but a 10 year commitment for those prices?

Thanks POS! I recall needing one of those a while back.
Paul..... i think they updated the FAQ with your question
Can I transfer my specialty plates to another vehicle?Yes.
- Only to the same type of vehicle (ex. car to car, truck to truck)
- Between vehicles you own: your County Tax Assessor-Collector’s office staff will issue a new registration sticker and assist with the transfer.
- To a car bought from a dealer:
You should remove your specialty plates and ask your dealer to transfer the plates to your new vehicle.
- To a car bought from another motorist in a private sale:
- Go to your main County Tax Assessor-Collector’s office to register them as you title the vehicle in your name. You can find more information at www.txdot.gov.
Note: Plates that are seven years old or older cannot be transferred to another vehicle. These plates must first be re-manufactured due to loss of reflectivity.
Not sure what happens if you want to transfer them once they are 7 years old.....
also... playing with the plate builder, i am disappointed. The options are very limiting top do a "vivid" plate for example would now cost $80 a year plus registration AFTER signing a 10 year agreement.... POS; what do your personalized plates set you back a year now?
yeah... not liking the new options so much.
Was just griping to the g/f because i had been talking about doing a "SXK MX5" plate when it was time to renew; but I'm not paying $80 for 10 years
This just in: MyPlates.com has shutdown their business in Texas due to lack of demand for the product according to Fox 4 news.

My Plates Specialty License Plate Marketing Program Ceases Operation
TxDOT working to ensure no disruptions in service for Texas motorists
My Plates LLC, has stopped operations in Texas, effective immediately. My Plates has cited the current
economic downturn as the reason for ceasing operations in Texas.
WHAT THIS MEANS TO OUR CUSTOMERS
- All license plates sold by My Plates will remain valid, and all orders already placed with
My Plates will be fulfilled.- The pre-existing specialty license plate program specifically benefiting charity and non-profit organizations is not affected by the My Plates closure.
- The closing of My Plates does not affect the validity of plates sold under the program. A My Plates-designed specialty plate will remain valid and can be displayed on the vehicle for the full term purchased.
