    Unhappy

So sad, I remember doing a car show there with some of you a couple of years ago. I was impressed with their shop and the cars they were building, but it looks like there was a lot of shadyness going on. I now wonder how this will effect Carrol Shelby, after all if he wasn't involved with them they never would have grown to the point they did. I know Shelby is trying to wash his hands of Unique Performance, but I'm sure it wont be that easy.

Do you suppose they will auction off the OCC Shelby Bike, that was a sweet ride.

I think that is actually 3 pounds less than Ford used when they originally made the Mustang-Falcon!

Chip Foose was involved with them too with the Foose Stang.

I saw the Foose Stang at a car show in Sachse last fall. I was unimpressed.

Exactly, my point is that both Shelby and Foose, severed ties with Unique after the raids, not before. So I'm left wondering if those companies will be investigated as well.

It's like getting pulled over and someone in your car has drugs. It's a little late to sever all ties to that person, as there is a perceived guilt by association that will probably take place.

True, but it could also be a case of they didn't know what was going on either and got out as soon as they found out. Chip Foose has, in general, a very good reputation. Since the article mentions that Foose may start their own litigation against Unique Performance, it may be just that simple.

All I have to say is Carrol Shelby has become a bitter, greedy old bastard that doesn't even let replicar manufacterers or any other merchansing use his name or logo unless given special permission for a hefty price.

Well duh, I wouldn't either. I only want my name on something I've controlled, and feel responsible for. Who can blame him?

But what about the Shelby Chopper? We could all go in on it and take turns riding it at Auto crosses, and other events

No, he's been a real dick about it from what I understand in the past. Even when people come to him first to work out something. I believe that is one reason he did the fugly Series 1 with GM instead of Ford.

He should be freaking overjoyed that his car was sooo awesome that everyone wants to reproduce it still.

Car & Driver even wrote about it in their March edition under the "Dirt Road" section. They titled it "Carroll Shelby's gnarly automotive legend gets even crustier." Unfortunately it's not available on-line, but it was an interesting read.
