Dang tell your mom it's time for a new car!![]()
My mom called last night and said that one of her headlights went out. She has an 00 RX300 with HIDs. I figure it is probably the bulb, but there seem to be more points of failure with HIDs than regular headlights. Is there anything I should check before we dropon a new bulb? It seems that replacement is fairly straight forward and similar to regular lights.

It's either the bulb, ballast or igniter. I would check the bulb first and if the bulb is good switch the ballasts and igniters from side to side and see if that's the problem.

Good news, it was just a bulb. Those things are pricey though. It was very easy to swap, and after looking at the old one it is obvious that it was hosed.
