    I know that many people consider the shuttle a big waste, but I still think it has done great things for our country and for science. However, it is time for something else. Or so goes my opinion.

    I don't think people realize just how amazing the accomplishments of the space program are...

    Oh, I am not denying the accomplishments of the space program. I am just saying that after nearly 30 years, we may have gotten just about all we are going to get out of the Space Shuttle system.

    ^^ I wasn't disagreeing

    I certainly agree that the Shuttle needs to be replaced, which it will around 2010 or so (last I heard). Early 80's designs may still work for aircraft, but spacecraft are a different story.
