Default 2008 Sam's Club MS 150 Frisco to Fort Worth

Hey, guys, it's me, your crazy bike riding webmaster!

I'll be riding the MS 150 again this year. Last year was an amazing experience for me, and I helped raise nearly $500 for the MS Society (my team managed $343,000!!!).

Last year's ride started out with a damp chill in the air that rapidly turned in to a never-ending drizzle. There's nothing quite like pedaling 78 miles in a drizzle. Not enough water to wash the mud off your glasses, and just enough to mix with the dirt on the road and fling up off your tire to add a fresh coat.

The second day starts out with a gradual climb from Justin to Decatur followed by a gradual descent before the seven hills along Eagle Mountain Lake before the finale in downtown Fort Worth. Those seven hills were painful last year. My feet and lower back weren't quite ready for back to back 80 mile days. But, I made it!

Last year when I started, I had about 1700 road miles under my belt this decade, all compiled in the months preceding the ride. This year, I've already ridden over 3500. I'm looking forward to having a lot of fun and being there to cheer my wife, Amanda, on as she crosses the finish line both days.

So why do I mention this? Well, it all comes down to money. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society needs yours!

Multiple sclerosis (MS) usually strikes adults in the prime of life – between the ages of 20 and 50. It is a chronic disease of the central nervous system affecting the brain and spinal cord. One new case of MS is diagnosed every hour. It comes and goes unpredictably, leaving people to wonder, “Will I become paralyzed, blind or have trouble walking? Will I be able to raise my family and continue my career?”

You can help us win the fight against MS by clicking the following link to donate in my name.

    Thanks!!!

I'm in for 20 bucks. They don't take paypal. Can I give 20 dollars CASH to POS tonight and he can get it to you?
Hmm what is decent? Are we talking about your decent or my decent? I'm just curious because I don't want to offend anyone else's decent...

Thanks! That's up to him.... Maybe someone on that side of the world can be convinced to convert cash to credit card donation.

Same thing with another contribution to this site that I tried 2 minutes before this one.

Tailchaser, can you check to see if the money got through. I'll try it again later if needed.

    TIA

It was a great ride! Saw some Miata pilots along the way.

Rode injured the second day, but Bo was kind enough to wait around. The hills at the end were almost, but not quite steep enough for me to drop him, but I backed off too soon and let his inner sprinter take over. Oh well.

Looks like their website is now accepting donations without puking its guts.

    Thanks, guys!!!
