Busted Mid Pipe

The mid pipe of one of my 99 is rusted through! I have 2 questions.

1. Do I have to get this fixed to pass the inspection? I do not have CEL and only have slightly louder exhaust note.

2. What is the best bang/$ to fix this? I saw this RoadsterSport Stainless Steel Miata Midpipe with High Flow Catalytic Converter And Resonator at Gary's website.

Well remember you cant replace anything but the catback for stock autoX. I dont know if you are doing anything other than S2k. Also you could probably find a stock pipe from one of the used parts dealers on the internet. At the same time I bet that roadstersport sounds good.

Thanks. I have two cars and this is for street and a couple of track days a year only. Staying stock is not a big concern for this car.

Dang is it a Canadian Miata? I've never had a exhaust rust thru! Even my '67 Cadillac from Cleveland, Ohio (Rust Belt) still has it's original exhaust!

I'd find a used mid pipe off a Texas based car!

I have a used mid pipe for sale. I would not add our Goodwin Mid Pipe unless you are going with a supercharger. Larger is not better as you will loose bottom end torque in exchange for a couple of horses on top.
