Thread: What is this place?

    Default What is this place?

I was looking around on Google Maps and found this little interesting area about 15 minutes NE of my house.

I need to check it out.

Any ideas of what it may be? If it's paved it could be a fun place to play!

Search these coordinates on your favorite satellite map. It will not show on street maps as it has no name.

    Erwin park.

I don't think they would want you running around the park at 90mph...

Darn, TC beat me to the punch.

The part you see on the arial map is paved. This weekend is the big day for all Ham radio operators to contest for Field day. I think the McKinney Amature Radio Club has a setup out there this weekend, starting on Friday and going through Sunday afternoon. Go check it out, play on the HF radio.

Some of the satellite photos show parked cars in the parking areas off to the side of the loop.

    Is it paved or dirt?

Both. There are paved roads through the park, and a dirt trail for hiking/mountain biking.

Go ahead and tear ass through the park. Every time I go there, I see at least one guy explaining his speed to a park ranger.

Don't warn him... I was hoping to hear the story about how he got busted for 75 on the park road...
