Thread: Happiest Day for a Honda Owner!

Talking Happiest Day for a Honda Owner!

Dad ditched his '06 Honda Pilot this weekend.

He said it was his favorite day of the entire lease experience.

The poor thing was listing slightly to the right side with all the service receipts in the glove box for its series of never ending issues, but it did have Vtec!

I love Hondas, I have owned two (2nd gen Accord and 4th gen Civic) and my wife has owned two (3rd gen Acura Integra and current Honda Fit). I loved my two, but my wife's experience with her Integra was mixed.

I don't think I could buy a Pilot though (though I thoroughly loathe large cars). When we were buying the Fit there was a Ridgeline (Pilot with a bed) in the showroom. While working on paperwork, the truck's alarm system decided to go haywire. Then when I was picking up the owner's manual which had not come in the mail when we bought it, a Pilot was in the showroom doing the same thing.

My general experience with Hondas is that I love their 4 cylinder vehicles but I would be shy of any 6 cylinder model. Also, they make great stickshifts but their automatics are a mixed bag. The automatic on the Integra stunk, the Accord was ok considering 17 years of service, I don't care much for how my dad's CR-V shifts but I can live with it, and the Fit's 5 speed auto is passable. Then there is the matter of the problems they have had with the V6 autos in the recent past.
