Did she have her seat belt on? That's a LOT of personal injury for what appears to be not that much damage to the car. Hell, the light pole didn't even detach from the concrete base!

    Hope she recovers quickly.

She's a tall skinny thing...Police said the seatbelt and the airbags saved her life...speculation is that she probably would have been ejected from the car via the front windshield.

She was traveling EB on Arapaho when a car pulled out from a side street (he said there was a truck turning and he didn't see her) intending to pull out and make a left to go WB on Arapaho. He t-boned the passengers side...at the same time she swerved thinking she could miss him - between the impact of his car on the passengers side and her swerving - she went head on into the pole doing at least 40 (probably more). Passengers side caved in pretty bad too.

The pole was pushed forward at least 6 to 8 inches. That picture is after they pulled the car away from the pole.

Half of those injuries sound airbag related. Still, it would have been alot worse without one. I'm a believer.

We went to the hospital yesterday to see her. She looks better than we anticipated and they hope to release her today or tomorrow.

I spoke with her husband and he showed me more photos of the car. He said that the concrete was moved six inches from the impact. The engine block was moved about 30 inches rearward. The transmission moved as well causing a buckling of the console inside the cabin. The damages throughout were so extensive that the seats, the wheels, and rear tail lights were about the only things salvageable. He's now looking for another car so if anyone knows of a Cobra for sale let us know.
