If you keep the car in the right gear, there is no lag at all. Turbochargers FTMFW!!!11!!one!!!11!!!

that's not entirely correct. Again, as I demonstrated in my video, it might take a second or two for the turbo to build to 14psi. If im in 3rd gear above 4k I can instantly make 14psi if I hit the go fast pedal. But as you can see, in 3rd gear when I'm starting at 4K, it takes a half seconds for it to build. That's lag. Even though in 3rd gear, starting at 2K I can make 14psi by 3800RPM.

For my purposes I consider "noticable boost" my boost target of 14psi. Otherwise, I still make boost instantly, just not my target. However, 1psi is greater than 0psi.

From a get-go, if my turbo didn't make 2psi until 3k (which it doesn't), that's my boost threshold and what people confuse with lag. If someone says, oh that turbo is laggy, what they mean to say is: "hello guy, your turbo spools mighty slow!"

    A small GT2554 on a 1.8L miata can make 10psi by 3500RPM. Un-likewise, a T3/T4 57 trim on a 1.8L might not even 2psi by then.

So if I was in 3rd gear with my t3/t4 under 3000RPM, I might not make any boost, even at WOT possibly for more than a few seonds....lag.

With that said, I don't have the smallest turbo for a 1.6L, however, I don't assicate it with the term "lag." Having a greater boost threshold (thus slower spool), yes. But not laggy, unless you think a half second to make 14 pounds of boost is laggy. If so....wanna race?

But could you not have been in second gear at high RPMs and make the boost you want? No, it wouldnt be gas efficient, and no its not ideal to drive along at a constant 5.5k rpm, but what I was trying to say that when one is racing a turbo car, if you keep the revs up and in the right gear, the loud pedal can make almost instant boost without hardly any lag (or spool time for that matter)

No I dont wanna race, Im making about 100rwhp....But my 125 shifter will take your ass out
