If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

After driving a well prepared SP car, I'm not sure I'll be ride whoring in Stock clases much anymore.

Default Scoop on the SoWDiv Divisional #4

Just a few notes about divisional #4:

    - As is tradition with big TX Region events, we'll have a killer welcome party on Friday night. With free beer and Margaritas to cool the heat and Pizza to satify your hunger it promises to be a good time under the big tent.
    - No matter how hot it gets on Saturday the ice cold A/C of the clubhouse will keep you cool during the Saturday night party. Want it even cooler? Take a dip in the TX shaped swimming pool that's just off the patio. Dinner will be served following a brief town hall meeting, then it's party till you pu.... err, get tired. Free frosty adult beverages Saturday night too.
    - The practice time on Friday will help you figure out the hot setup for the bus lot surface. 1 run for $3, 4 for $10. Piper will have a representative course set up and open by 11:00 am.
    - The last couple of events we've had several requests for kids size T-shirts, shirts with pockets and tank tops with the event logo printed on them. For the first time you can pre-order one of these specials on our web page. You'll also be able to order a grey shirt - an online only special. Shirts available at the event will be white, and will only be available in common sizes. If you want a grey shirt, special size or different configuration hop over to the web page and pre-order your shirt. The page will be up soon.

Stay tuned for more scoop as it becomes available!

A few Divisional Updates & Reminders:

    • BIG NEWS: In response to many concerns about corner workers being in the heat this summer, Texas Region Solo has decided to provide 10' x 10' tents at each corner station for the Divisional event on August 15, 16, 17. Obviously the corner workers can't stay huddled-up under the tents at all times & work the course effectively, so we are asking course workers to cycle thru the shade. This will give everyone working on course a chance to have some "shade" time especially if you are not used to the heat. In addition, the Region will be providing coolers at each station with ice & water.

    • On another subject, several people have expressed difficulty with the online entry process. For this I refer you to a previous email posted by our Chief of Registration, Phil Adams. The key item seems to be that you must do the "Subscribe to Club" process for the Southwest Divisional series. Make certain that you provide & save your membership number during the on-line entry process. If you have problems please feel free to contact me & we'll get you help.

Along that same thought, take notice that next week the late fees start to take effect!! Entry is $65 & covers all Parties, Food & Beverages for both nights!! You can't beat the price for 2 days of great competition & all the Food & Beverages you can eat/drink.

    • Also, if you need additional meal tickets ($15), please e-mail the Event Chair, Jennifer Maxcy at [email protected] ASAP with your request! You won't need to pay for the tickets until the event.

    • Some of you might not know, but the Saturday Party is at the Texas Motor Speedway Condo Club House. That means AIR CONDITIONING & use of the Texas shaped SWIMMING POOL! (Yes, swimsuits are required....it's not that kind of party, Piper)

What more could you ask for after a day of Autocrossing than a plate full of Riscky's BBQ, a few cups of COLD Shiner BEER (& or a Margarita) & a dip in the SWIMMING POOL???

So stop dragging your heels & register for the event!:

Is there going to be a regular SCCA event this month? I don't have regular internet access, and I have been going by the pocket schedule in my wallet, so I thought this weekend was going to be a regular event.
