Brown Santa delivered the IL console on Friday! It looks to be very sturdy and very well-made (much more so than the stock piece). I should have it in by Wednesday Nite if anybody wants to take a look...![]()

Well, not much of a writeup for this one. The install is very straightforward, and all the hardware was included - the screws were actually poked into the proper holes in the console and backed up with cardboard to keep them from rattling out. The biggest PITA for me was pulling out the radio so I could get my iPod cable out of the old console (not sure why Earmark installed it the way they did). For this console, I routed the iPod cable back through the trunk/fuel door release hole - I had plenty of cable and didn't want to drill any holes in this pup. The whole install took me an hour. Everything fits perfectly and IMO it looks very slick!

Nope. I looked into it as a part of my tan to black interior swap.
There are some pretty pimp NB consoles out there, (see: http://www.miatasources.com/index.php?categoryID=28 ) but they're $$$. I just went with a standard '03 console - which was a nice upgrade from the '99 one.

Looks fantastic, i bet it feels nice having some comfort now. Those Nb consoles don't look too great for everyday driving. The short ones are nice but with out an arm rest it's eh.
Now that I've road tested it a bit, I can say that it's really nice having the extra armrest room, in addition to all the extra storage/cupholders/cubby holes/etc...
VFR750 was right - they should've come from the factory with this...
