Trina and I were considering the latter. It depends on when her Mom gets here Thursday. We considered at least driving half-way on Thursday night but it's fun to drive as a group.

It's still up in the air for us.

Most of us are going early for the early track time. Those who are not "invited" to run will be riding shot gun with some of us so they can get familiar with the track.

Can't you "cough-cough" call in sick?

If anyone needs me to drive their track car, preferably force inducted, then I'm more than happy to help out. My ugly car is not track ready.

    Probably the last update.

Here is the room list with the 5 of 6 rooms taken, I am canceling the 6th room today. Rooms are under my name.

    Room 1 Gary-TDR, Andy
    Room 2 Robert, Harry
    Room 3 John, Chris F
    Room 4 Chris S, Dad
    Room 5 Gab, Mike G

    TRAVEL Arrangements

We have about 15 people coming to Hallett from the DFW area. We need to spit up the caravan of cars driving up if you want to follow. I am leading one pack and I asked William to run another pack who lives in McKinney.

    Gary's Pack

    Gary
    Andy
    Michael
    Shana
    Harry
    Chris K
    Vern

    William's Pack

    William
    Nails
    Crazy
    Rick
    Craig
    Paul
and anyone who wants to drive up Friday morning.

Those who are going on the track on Friday and you can pay when you get there, need to be there around 11:00 so we need to leave Plano no later than 6:00 AM. I am shooting to leave at 5:30 because it seems we never leave on time with a large group.

Suggest if you have a CB radio that you bring it. There are times you can not pass and a CB is perfect for directing you around cars, knowing about debris on the road or even an occasional pot hole. Of course if we see red and blue's it would be nice to no why we all slammed on the brakes, not that we would be speeding or anything.

If you do not know my cell, make a note of it 214-280-6172. Here is Williams as well so you can get with him 214-707-9112.

Gab, call me to confirm on the bed please. If anyone has questions please don't hesitate to ask.

No CB radio; however we have GMRS radios. We'll be on channel 16.

You can pick up a pair or a single fairly cheap.

SixAce and I will be leaving from Gainesville at about 10 AM Friday. We will be using channel 7, CTCSS tone 16, on FRS radios. We will be headed up I35 to the Turner Turnpike.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

Wait, are we splitting into two groups or not? I mean, I like you guys and all, but keeping a conga line of 15+ cars together for 5+ hours sounds like a bad idea for a number of reasons...

I would suggest handing out a route map with planned stop locations to all drivers then if anyone falls behind they still know how to get there or where the group has stopped for stretches or gas or whatever. Also recommend everyone has William's and Gary's cell numbers in case of break downs.

I agree and that is why I suggested two groups. We may run into each other, but Way to many cars. William, you need to leave when you are ready and Don't wait on us.

Also note that gas quanity and quality, highest octane is 91 is all you can get in OK. I suggest William that you guys stop at a gas station either in Denison or Durant before turning on Hwy 48. From McKinney to Bristow which is near I44 on Hwy 48 is about 250 miles.

As for the directions, we are heading North on 75 to Hwy 48 which is about 3 miles after Durant so don't miss it. You will take this really nice 2 lane road for almost the complete trip. After you fill up in Bristow you stay on Hwy 48 for about 30 miles toward Mannford. You will then turn left (West) on Hwy 51 and travel about 10 miles to Hwy 99 and then turn right (North). This is the road to Hallett and you will see signs that state Hallett. The track is about 7 miles up Hwy 99 on the left. If you go over Hwy 412 which is the Tollway back to the hotel you went to far.

    See you there.
