Thread: sprayed down engine; CEL afterwards....

Default sprayed down engine; CEL afterwards....

Ok, I sprayed some simple green on the engine and rinsed it off. During the next drive, the engine sputtered for a while and the CEL came on.... After a short while, the engine started running right. How do I reset the CEL? I am guessing it will turn itself off after some many starts??? CEL= Check Engine Light, but I'm sure 99.99999999% of you knew that...

Oh, and I'd like some new exhaust suggestions.... I want the Konig Rewind wheels, or maybe some Kosei's, so if anyone has a line on those....

The CEL will shut itself off.

Make sure you don't have any water in the spark plug wells, or it will do it again tommarow. Guess how I know this.....

I ran it over 10 miles... You think that should dry the spark plug wells out?

Nope. Those plug wells seem to retain the water for a while. Try blowing them out with compressed air. Do not remove the plugs though! They're keeping the water out of the engine.
    ...and across the line.

Not if there's ounces of water per hole. I think if the battery is disconnected for more than 30 minutes it will clear the comp too.
