So long, Hud.
Well the legendary actor and racer has passed away after a fight with cancer. I still remember my dad forcing me to sit and watch Cool Hand Luke as a kid, and I remember getting to meet Paul at the Houston Grand Prix with Onething. We truly lost a legend.

So long, Hud.
I thought this was kind of sad...
"Last month, Newman, a longtime Connecticut resident, went out to Lime Rock Park to take some final laps in his Corvette."
RIP Paul.
Cool Hand Luke is one of my favorite all time movies.
Another legend gone. I remember seeing him at the 1976 SCCA Runoffs at Road Atlanta, he had his own team and was driving a Datsun 510 and a Triumph TR6 in the production classes. I was there with a friend and nobody in the pits was bothering him. Everyone kept there distance and left him alone.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
I just watched "The Long Hot Summer" the night before.
It was filmed in my home town in 1958, as was "Blaze".
The Real Deal, nothing like going in "Rocky's" (a store) and seeing Paul buying a coke.

Wait... he was an actor too???
RIP, Paul... one of the classiest acts around, from what I know. One hell of a race car driver, purveyor of one mean vinegarette, charitable beyond belief, and (almost forgot) one hell of an actor.
Godspeed.
