aac to mp3 or mp4
My kid has an Ipod all her music is aac format (500+ songs), she now has a Walkman cell phone that will take mp3's or mp4's.
Anyone know of a free converter we can use so she can move some of her music to her cell??

Are these protected AAC files purchased through Apple? If not, iTunes will convert from standard AAC to MP3 without added software downloads.
Then you can just pull the files out of the appropriate folders on the drive.
You might also find something useful at rarewares if you feel inclined to check. Sammm's link looks perfecto, though.

You can use a program called "tunebites" It will convert even the protected stuff.
As I recall, iTunes audio (not purchased) are .m4a files (aac encoded). Try just renaming one of them from something like mysong.m4a to mysong.mp4 and see if you can play it on the phone -- Both formats should be AAC. The ones that you will not be able to convert readily are .m4p files since those ARE copy-protected.
If the phone is a Nokia, this should work
