    Default Miata replacement... (GTI content)

Here is the Miata replacement... a 2007 Candy White GTI.

Yes I broke... should have never test drove one.

This is the second MK5 GTI I have owned... the first was a 2 Door w/ DSG.

DSG was technically phenomenal... however boring. So I am glad to have gotten a 6MT this time!

    The plaid RAWKS, Ken!

Granted, you should've got a used mid-80s 911, but still... that's a damn sweet car. I know it's a blast to drive, and I'm sure the good puppy dog enjoys it (by the looks of the blankie on the back seat). Congrats!

So, um... the steering wheel is all sticky and sweaty and smells funny? Really? Ew...

Yes keeper LOVES it. He now has a harness/seatbelt thing.

That blanket hooks around the headrests and is waterproof. Its great because it keep hair and drool off the seats... Plus it removes in about 10 seconds!

On the steering wheel I have said to much... Lets just say my car and I share a closer bond now. :)

Seriously though the wheel is probably one of the best steering wheels in any car south of $50k.

The plaid is a throwback to the 1st generation GTI that came to the states. Those had plaid cloth seats.

    nice looking car.

It will "match" it's drivers.... any time I've seen a group of VW guys, the majority are wearing plaid.....

As for the doggie hammock, I wish mine had pockets like yours, although mine has a zipper on the passenger side, so it can be half unzipped to letm a person sit next to the dog....

Nice upgrade, I test drove one when it first came out (6MT, 0 package) and it wasn't for me but for the price you get a ton of car.

I need one of those. My Border Collie was sliding all over the car Saturday night during the tour to the drive in movie. I actually had to slow down a few times to get him out of my face.

I would really like to have another hatchback for the doggies. They get a little restless in my NA. I'm keeping the Miata. I have too much into it to sell for a loss, but a hot hatch would be fun. I miss my Suzuki Swift GT. I never should have sold it. An early GTI would be fun too, if there are any left.

Soon... will be doing suspension in the next few months.

Stock turbo is 13psi. There is almost no hint of turbo lag.

    Stock (K03 Turbo) = 200HP/200TQ

    Software Flash ~$500 = 250HP/305TQ

    K04 Turbo Upgrade ~$4,000 = 355HP / 368HP (supposedly this hits like the stock K03... very early)

Anything more would be silly in a FWD.

Dang they are picking up over 100 wtq on just a reflash? I know the 1.8T' got about 50-60 wtq but that's crazy.

I have had 6 VW/Audis and have had no real problems to speak of. No coil packs or other common issues that others have had. Maybe I am lucky?

One of my MK4 GTI's was a Greddy test mule with a big turbo... I had 18K trouble free miles with it. I even spoke with the guy that bought it from me 2 years later and it had an O2 Sensor fail... I was amazed.

On a side note so far the MK5 platform so far looks worlds ahead of the MK4 platform with those issues.

Yeah the GT3XXX 1.8T's that were laggy are putting out the same power as a K04 on the 2.0T with almost no lag.

Dyno of a K04 turbo kit on 93 octane pump gas... ~330lb ft of TQ @ 3,000 RPM!

i love the pliad seats! weve aligned a bunch of those up here, some so low that the owners asked me to back it out of the shop so nothing scratches the bottom!

I will be coming to see you when I get my suspension on (wont be that low).

I think the package with NTB I bought transfers to any car I own.
