My shop is also available those days if you prefer the far east side, although my shop is not nearly as big and my lift is not yet operable. I have a 400 sq ft shop with air tools and a 500 sq ft garage without air tools. I am about 30 minutes east of 75/PGBTP/Plano or 15 minutes north of I-30/Rockwall depending on where you are coming from.

Do we want to vote on which shop location to use and which date?

We have I-30 and Las Vegas Trail in Ft. Worth and 15 minutes north of I-30 Rockwall.

As dates we have Saturday November 22 or Sunday November 23.

I'm planning on being there for either place on either date.

Regardless of where and when this happens, you will need to go 'rent' spring compressors from Autozone. You will pay for them and then get full credit when you return them.

I really NEED to change my struts (which have never been changed in 18 years), but I just spent $400 with Trussville and Ebay on must-do PM parts and I am not finished yet. I plan on buying the new orange Koni struts in the spring. By the way, did anyone buy the new Koni orange struts yet?

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I would like to do it at a place with a lift. What does everybody else think?

Don't need a lift for shocks. You'll get more leverage with the car on jack stands (and you need to get in to the trunk and under the hood).

So do we want to do it at the other place then? Is Fort Worth too far for some people?

Let me preface this by saying that I'm not bringing this up to convince anyone to come to my shop for any reason:

I'm not sure I follow your reasoning there. Having the car on a two post lift does not make the trunk and engine bay inaccessible in my experience. Your average lift allows you to raise and lower the car much more quickly than with a jack and jack stands. I also don't enjoy rolling around on a creeper when I can just have everything at eye level. I may be the odd man out on this opinion, but the reason I purchased a lift was to make working on a car that much easier.

How do you achieve more leverage with a car on a set of jack stands?

A lift is a great tool to have, no doubt. Installing shocks isn't the time when it's a big plus to use one IMO.

    YMMV, NMC.

I may need to withdraw the offer of my place this time as I may have family staying with us. I should know for sure in a few days.

Default It's the drive silly ............ (grins)

Either location is ok by me as I am dead center between I-35W/I-35E just north of Hillsboro. As an avid touring rider, to me it's not the destination, rather the trip that counts.

Thank you. I have even done that before. My Uncle Sam taught me how to pull 5000 gallons of gasoline around in a big green rig. That was about 35 years ago. I haven't driven an s-t/t since.
