might go and keep it slow, that place eats tires
"Caravan Leaving Time: 9AM - Ferrell Center" ...so how much time do they count on really doing the runs! I guess by the time they set up the course, cooking and eating lunch, the moon would up arleady! Is this a night event?![]()

Man, 9 AM is early on a Saturday if you're a college student.
Google maps sez it's ~100 miles from Baylor to Mineral Wells. So yeah, figure they'll leave late, it'll take 'em two hours to get there, and you're lucky if they're even on site much before noon.
Y'all have fun and let me know how it goes.![]()

It looks like a prep crew is leaving for MW at 7am.

That finish looks a little iffy.

ya I've been going back and forth with him on different designs.
On one hand he wants to limit tire wear (at MW!) and on the other hand he's got a lot of noobs out there, so high speed = danger.
I pitched these:
I like the bottom one going from red to green better than green to red actually.
And this is my first time even trying to build a design. Much harder than I thought it would be!
That bottom one is going to be super fast on the back stretch, and in to a tight turn.
I don't think they understand the scale. That first map has 120' slalom spacing on the back stretch.
Have you guys ever run at mineral wells before? taken a course design class? setup a course there?
Only reason I ask......I'd highly suggest getting lots of help from veteran course designers. I'd also consider running a shorter and smaller course without the back and fourth on itself at the finish.
Also, the whole course is a sea of cones as well......it looks like it will be hard to read.
