Do standard DVD's look much better on the Blue ray than the standard DVD players? On an HD TV.

Not without an HDTV. With an HDTV they can look better. Either the TV or the player is going to upscale. Usually blu-ray players have better upscalers than TVs so they do make the SD-DVD look better than it would with a regular DVD player.

    Thanks Makik

I ment to type On a HD TV not No a HD TV.

I have been thinking about getting a Blue ray DVD but their is not a lot of movies on them yet so I may wait till their are more movies and the price comes down a little and the platform gets more stable.

With the way the prices are dropping it would be worth it to get a blu-ray player fairly soon. You can get upconverting DVD players that make SD-DVDs look really good, but they are fairly pricey, although cheaper than Blu-ray. Keep in mind netflix rents blu-ray so that is how I watch almost all of my movies. There just arent many movies that are worth buying to me, especially recent ones. Every day though the list of past movies re-released on blu-ray grows.
