Thread: Slow Computer

    Default Slow Computer

The old HP here in my office at the world headquarters seems to be running slower in 2009 that I recall it running in 2008.

Doesn't seem like it is cranking on hard drive more than it did before it just seems slower.

We haven't added any new software in at least 6 months. We have Microsoft OneCare on all the systems here and it appears to be doing it's job.

Any decent utilities for diagnosing the poor thing? I don't even know where to start to check it, and I'm not 100% sure it really has an issue.

I'm not in the mood to buy a new computer yet, we do plan to replace all the computers here at the world headquarters but I was hoping to wait until at least 3rd or 4th quarter 2009.

    TIA

Yep! Onecare does it every 2 weeks and I also did a defrag last night.

We had a Trojan.Vundo bug going around our office this week. My machine slowed down a bunch and started acting like it was running out of memory - not caching web pages and stuff.

The Malawarebyte fix here fixed it after it kept throwing Symantec for a loop.
