Is this a Valentines survey or a love survey? A lot of people have a different view concerning valintines day and love.

And is it romantic love (to BE in love) or general love that you seek an opinion of? I loved my cat...and I love my family...obviously in different ways. And according to Nails it's putting others' needs before your own, that's a lot of love going on between strangers. Is that "free love" of the 60's, or spiritual love...

What's YOUR short take on love? Or did you really want to know how everyone felt about valentines day?

Valentines Day is what you make it...just like any other "holiday". You choose whether to make someone in your life feel special...or not.

Congrats to those with someone to squeeze tonight... I'll make do with my dog and the Miata this year. A 2-lb bag of Beggin' Strips and cruise control is lookin' pretty good right now.

Love is the ability to understand and appreciate another, without expecting the same in return.

It's also the ability to argue and scream, punch a hole in the door, go in the other room and drink like a fish, probably commit other similar actions while blacked out, puke all over yourself and pass out...and wake up in the morning with your partner changing your vomit stained clothes, putting a cold towel on your head, and preparing you cold water and toast.

Hopefully the second description is on a one time basis...

Someone defined love as "the cognitive-affective state characterized by intrusive and obsessive fantasizing concerning reciprocity of amorant feelings by the object of the amorance."

I'm sure they got it right.
