ok so i actually started messing with everything anf it isnt turbo powered at all/...

I wanted a lifted truck after selling my automatic 91.
dad and I couldnt come to a agreement, then my best friend was in a ATV accident and wound up with a ruptured stomach, lacerated liver, kidney and spleen and his pancreas cut in half as well as having part of his intestines removed. He is still in ICU 4 weeks later.
He said he wouldnt ride with me in a lifted truck because of the high center of gravity.

So after many hours in the hospital with him I came to the decision to get a car and I cant really afford any other car that i actually want and driving a miata is tons of fun.

So i found this one and bought it.


Now I had 4 other drivers that drive stick all the time tell me they cannot get it into reverse as well and I don't think it is simply my inexperience. So I am taking it to a shop in a little bit to see what they can tell me.

Nope i called the guy and he is talking to the guy he bought it from to see where we missed a 'turbo" either way I think i am getting some moneyback from the guy if there isn't one.

just put it in a shop to get the trans looked at. I will give you under hood pics later.

UPDATE:


NO turbo simple.....

the trans is shot.
the flywheel is damaged
the clutch is shot
the driveshat is shot
I am Fed for $2100 on a $3200 car

I dont know if i go harras the guy to give me some cash back becuase he sold it to me as a turbo ad it obviously IS NOT.

So ... do you still have a copy of the ad in Craiglist? You have to have some proof that he is taking advantage of you! This has to be the wildest thing I have ever heard! Missing turbo!

As for the reverse, it could be just simply needs a minor adjustment to the clutch. I had the same problem before and a minor adjustment was all it needed. I won't hand over any $$$ before having one the guys in here take a look at it first! For $2K, I think Gary can sell you one his.

go back to the seller and make his life hell... what have you got to loose at this point?

It must fate. I was thinking checking the car out last Sat since I live only miles from Mesquite. If I did, I may have blew the whistle on this.

I am thinking about making his life horrible until he gives me at least 2100 for the repair estimate.

and I am going to have them put the trans back in eat the $300 and take it to MiataSolutions

Yea that certainly looks like it, but it says Dallas instead of mesquite and it doesn't end in call joe but if I were superskittles I would reply to that ad from a new email account that the dude hasn't seen and find out if it's him, and if so then fuckin' sue his ass.

Ok so I emailed him. waiting for a response.

I talked to "Joe" yesterday I told him what was going and told him I waned cash for the missing turebo, he insisted he wasnt cheating me and would ask his friend that he go tit from about the turbo.

So calling him tonight well what hapens with that.



I got the clutch from teh shop. it was replaced and was black but turned blue from overheating and is worn out.
