That's almost a bad situation, glad the student escaped. During my time there, the campus police were always around, and I always felt safe on campus. Off campus though. . .had our neighbors house get broken into, and the cops came to our house and accused me and my sister of stealing our house. Then, we had some cop that looked younger than us openly call us spoiled brats to our face, while they were supposedly investigating a crime! Honestly don't have alot of respect for Lubbock police, didn't feel any safer when they put up "Lubbock Police Now Hiring" signs all over town.

My wife is always talking about all of the kidnappings and other unmentionables that happened on or near the UTA campus when she went there in the late 90's.
