Difference in work ethic. In 6 months the non-licensed guy will probably still be working.
So I am buying a new place that needs some work.
2 contractors are licensed one is not.
The 2 that are licensed are hard to get in touch with AND when I do try and schedule work to be done on a specific date they are like " Call me the day/week before to remind me".........What? I guess these guys aint hurting yet. If I can write a date on a calendar why cant these guys.
Anyhow, I am locked in now with them,...its not that I feel they can't do the work but rather their work ethic is poor.
So Would any of you guys that provide services tell your customers to call you and remind you of your obligation? maybe it's just me that finds this out of place.
The other guy who isn't licensed IS hungry for work, and calls to verify things hadn't changed each time he has been scheduled to show up.

We have had a non licensed guy do a BUNCH of work on our house. Not only was the price significantly lower, but he was always on time and mostly on budget. Very helpful with everything as well.
So if you need any stairs, spindles, or trim stuff done, I have a guy that's good.
Let me guess you are moving to Springtown??
Farm living is the life for me
Land spreading out,
so far and wide
Keep Manhattan,
just give me that countryside.

your right POS!
This guy has been in business for a long long time, so no worries about him not being available after the repairs and it's just sheetrock work.
