Default Miatas @ Laguna Seca video!

Footage from my last session with Juano as ballast. Nothing spectacular, but tons and tons of fun...

Woohoo!!!! That was really awesome!! Not having been there, it is hard to understand how much of an elevation change happens at the corkscrew. You are basically looking at the horizon and hoping the track is still where it was on the last lap. Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was that JT in the car talking or was that an instructor?
Five passes and no points. I noticed a turn signal on one is that how they let you know it's ok to pass? BTW you had one pass on a curve did you get black flagged? Nice driving Trickyrix. Way to use the whole track.

That was me and JT in the car. Some drivers used turn signals instead of a point-by, which was legit out there. The passing zones for us were supposed to be the front straight, the section between 4 and 5, and the long uphill between 5 and 6. But after 6, a guy pointed me by before the corkscrew so I took it, with no black flag - go figure.

Yea this is my first time around the track, and while the audio is pretty terrible (first time using hte camera) you may hear me talking about how awesome it is, then I get pretty quiet for a few laps as I start to get motion sickness, LOL. Good fun and Rick did do very well, you could maybe even blame his little offs, to him trying to teach the line to me. I just watched the video and you can hear me tell him that it's the hard braking that's killing my stomach at the end ha ha. I did fine on my track day BTW I'm just a terrible passenger.

Nice driving JT, and good instructing TR. Oh and you both suck. J/K

Actually looking at the vid, I was surprised how familiar the track is from GT4. You were taking pretty much the same line I use but I seem to have a hard time with the right turn before the corkscrew. I think I try and carry too much speed through.

Thanks to Juano for the camera... I gotta get me one of those, and then figure out how to set it so it picks up more sound.

And thank you, John, for not puking on my floor mats... You looked a little peaked those last couple of laps!

Yea definitly was Rick driving, I never got to that level of driving, I did get much better by the end of the day but it was my first time on a track and Rick was pretty obviously ready to be in class C instead of D. Also the "instructor" you hear is Rick pointing out some useful things to me about the line and such. All you hear from me is me saying "hell yea I love this" then asking a question or two about the corkscrew and getting quiet for a couple laps then you can hear at the end that the hard braking zones are what's making me sick the most. LOL good times.

...so... what camera is that? I am impressed with how good the video is. It is so much like that in GT3. I need to put that in my wish list.

Hero Motorsports GoPro Wide. It sells for $200 on FM website but Rick found it for $170 on Amazon. Also the sound problem is due to me not having time to read the instructions and not knowing how to correctly set up the camera, not a problem with the camera itself. I just took the camera out of the box about 45 minutes before this run was recorded and spent that time trying to determine the best way to mount it and putting in batteries and the SD card. Included in the box are various recomendations to make sure you get an acceptable sound level for how you're using it. Having set up the camera correctly I am satisfied with the sound, it's not good or great but it's acceptable and gets the point across.

Finally got my footage up. It's just me following the instructor but we do get up to a decent pace by the end.
