Thread: PPF should it stay or should it go??

Default PPF should it stay or should it go??

Does the PPF have to come out of the car to pull the motor?

One of my books shows how to take it out and I saw on hakuna's where he said he just moved it over?

Anyone got an experience with this??

I am fairly sure we removed it when we did Bean's clutch. Made it an easier job in the long run.

No, you don't have to. Just unbolt it from the tranny and the engine/tranny will clear it just fine. The exhaust downpipe needs to be disconnected at the header, though.

I pulled the entire exhaust and that was a PITA... Live and learn.

Did what Merv said on the PPF and the engine is now setting next to the car!

Got a co-drive lined up so I'm not in a huge hurry to get the "Red Menace" AX worthy.

    Oh, I'm A/X worthy. It's A/X that's not worthy of me.

Good lookin' engine hoist you have there!

does this apply if you are just pulling the tranny to replace a rear main seal ?

or is it better to remove PPF ?

I'm no expert but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express recently, if the tranny is coming out the bottom I'd think the added room of the PPF being removed would be a good thing.

    YMMV
