Found Verizon (non fios) has a 1 Mbps package for $20 a month. Probably going with that
Was mooching off some neighbors with the Wifi but I guess they all wised up and locked it down. Trying to find out what the best deal is. Looks like AT&T DSL isn't available in my area (75010 zip), Fios is about 50+ taxes and fees and I hate Time Warner (always screwed up my cable bill so I cancelled).
Any other alternatives? Just need basic 1.5 Mbps for hopefully $20 a month or something.

Get FIOS. Its wonderful.....
Oh wait.... my geek is showing...![]()
Im too TCB for Fios. Don't really need max bandwidth, I surf the web all day at work and don't really want to at night. Just need it to check email occasionally when I don't feel like using the Iphone and to hook it up to the TV to watch free cable/tv.

I actually use it for work. It sure is nice to be able to work at home for a day or two when necassary. I can do 99% of my job sitting on my couch at home.
Hrmm I wonder how much a spool of fiber optic cable costs. I can run one from your living room down Hebron a few blocks into my place.

Fios wasn't offered in my area of Dallas when i was shopping. I have a cable/ hbo/ hd/ internet bundle from Time warner, and I haven't had any issues once they actually got it installed. The contractor they sent out the first time didn't speak english, and just plugged in a cable box.... it didn't work.
Next week they sent out a company guy.... really nice, turns out the outdoor box wasn't connected, and the first guy had just spliced into a splice of a splice. He ripped out all the wiring and started from scratch. Even hooked up the other rooms in my place for no charge..... wish more repair guys were as nice as him... anyways

Too bad Time Warner is out of the question. They have a cable/internet package for $60 a month which is a deal...but alas, I hate those as*holes
