Thread: Good day for a few photos

That is the ebay hub and wheel. Here is the link to the one I purchased. I'm pleased for $40 shipped

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...7272&viewitem=

It went on pretty easy in my opinion. The hub was of an decent construction. The expensive hub trickyrix has has a nicer cover than the ebay one. The ebay one has a plastic accordion looking cover. That being said I don't think it looks bad. The wheel itself seems to be holding up well, and has been on for about 3 months now.

As far as install it also went on pretty easily. I had heard mixed feedback from miata members... some said it was a pain in the ass, some said it was a direct bolt on. I emailed 3 previous buyers of this wheel from this seller by looking through the ebay feedback profile. Two of the people were good enough to email me back and said that it had fit easily. One of them commented that the only drawback was the airbag light was on, and was ecstatic when I emailed him the 3 10 ohm resistors twisted in series instructions. To get the wheel to "center" I had to rotate the clock spring about 15°. This has not caused any issue with the turn signal cancellation. I also had to cut off the OEM connector to the airbag and horn, but one could always resolder them together if you wanted to revert back.

I used this as a technical reference--

The wheel and hub that i got were similar, if not the same, to the one in the tutorial. That being said I didn't do any of the drilling or modification to the hub that he did. Like I said, i just rotated the clockspring a few degrees. I also didn't bother with his grounding additions. I just put my faith in the spring assembly. It looks up to the job to me.

Lastly, as the pics above show I replaced the JDM horn button logo that was installed on the wheel. The horn button came apart pretty easily and there was a spare horn button included... one with the wheel, and one with the hub. However, the ring supplied withe the wheel's button needs to be used to make the button fit snugly.

Thanks again for the wheels William, they do look nice. too bad they accentuate the fact my Miata has a 4x4 suspension.... that needs to be 'fixed'

I'm glad they found a good home. I hope you get as much enjoyment as I did out of them. They're great looking wheels and look just as good on your car.

Until you get your car lowered, I think you should slap a couple of these on the flanks...
