Default Good day for a few photos

Well, Actually had the camera with me, the car was clean and the sun was out.

I believe these are the first pictures taken of the Miata with a camera other than my phone, lol.

    Ebay.

It's a 2005 Mustang Shift knob. Its heavy-ish, but not quite as heavy as the oem shift knob. I like how it fits my hand better though, so its an acceptable trade off.

All that being said it is not a direct fit.

I believe the miata is a 10x1.25 threading, whereas the Mustand is a 12x 1.25. I took a chamfer bit, and cored out the mustang knob. I then took a giant bolt, threaded some 10x1.25 nuts onto it and worked that into the knob. It was a tight fit and took patience. Once I had it where i wanted it I took it out, slathered the inside of the knob with JB weld, and re-inserted the bolt/ nuts. I let it dry 24 hours or so and unscrewed the bolt. And Voila! New customized shift knob for under $12 ($10 shipped on the knob and a buck or two for the bolt and nuts) I'm think the knob is pretty sturdy overall, and I've had it in the car a couple months now without an issue. It's my opinion if I manage to seperate the nuts and JB weld from the inside of the shift knob I'm doing something SERIOUSLY wrong, lol.

I thought I recognized the lettering as new mustang. I haven't seen the knob but the lettering looks the same as the speedo. Car looks good, especially the paint.

    I know

There are huge dimples behind it. Notice how the 2 other cars in my signature don't have front plates.

Made from 'scraps' of vinyl and red embroidery thread.Took a couple hours of patience. I'm going to be making a new one soon to match my new interior. That one isn't perfect, but i'd eventually be interested in trading it for a Kellers #5, tots, and a Soda lol

A heat gun and some massaging will work wonders on those dimples.

You sir are a gentleman and a scholar.... anyone have a how to for de-dimpling bumpers? Are there any tricks?

Well, thanks to Titus' heat gun, my miata is now 'prettier'
The bumper was a royal PITA to get off. there were WAY too many bolts.

Small asian hands I have not.

Just a few bolts holding the bumper in.

Car looks odd without the front bumper cover.

The dimpling was pretty bad. This was why I hadn't already taken off the font plate.

Half way there. The right side has been worked on, the left has not. The difference is noticeable to me.

And all finished. Putting the bumper back on was a bit easier.... but not much. There is still some dimpling, but I think it looks alot better.

Made the steering wheel a bit less E-Bay-ish. finally got around to taking apart the horn button and got rid of the "JDM" Horn button.
