Rogue is a great Miata mechanic / great auto paint man / and all around great guy, but if I can get info on a great Paint guy 10 minutes from my house, I'm listening.

Alright - here's the price. Just remember I had my spoiler removed and the holes welded, he's painting my hard top, etc. Things like that will create variances in cost from car to car. He also never painted a Miata before - so after having done one and knowing first hand what the teardown and reassembly is like he may choose to estimate differently next time.

That said - the job I'm having done is running me almost exactly $2,900 all in.

As for the guy's contact info - if you PM me I'll be happy to give it to you. His specialty is actually collision repair and that's the bulk of the work that he does. So also keep that in mind if you ever find yourself in need of a little body work.

Sounds reasonable to me. Pics look great I can't wait to see it in person.

Rogue will be "my guy" if he does not live in OK! It is at least an hour from my house to his!

The paint job looks great, but Rogue painted the front end of my car, so I am biased.

We're in the home stretch. Stopped by last night to drop off some stuff for him that I was holding on to (door cards, reflectors, etc) The car is mostly buffed out, the bumpers and lip are shot and need to be sanded/buffed. The eyelids still need to be shot. He said I'll have the car back on Sunday at the latest.

I also picked up some '05 Mazdaspeed tail lights on the cheap to help the car look even more shiny and new when it's all back together. I'll be dropping those and some new weather stripping (one of the doors' stripping tore when removing the masking) off tomorrow and that should be the last I see of the car before I go "take delivery" of it this weekend.

Well the paint is done and all I have to say is....wow!

The car looks awesome. It's not even really that clean in the pics. They did a good job on the final detail - but it needs a good all-over hand glaze to finish it up. But still...the car looks amazing. I'm very happy with the job.

Pics are below. I'll post a new thread once I get some *real* photos taken. That will probably be after the car has fully cured and I've applied a few coats of Zaino :) Keep in mind you're looking at the car with absolutely no wax on it. The Zaino will only make the reflections deeper and the paint more wet looking.

I don't see how any wax is going to improve on that.

    It's stunning.

    Needs cone marks.

It looks great! Not just the paint, but the whole thing. I love how those wheels look on there.

    Thanks guys :)

I walked out into a garage that reeks of paint solvent this morning. I wish it wasn't so crummy out so that I could park it outside to bask in the sun.
