Thread: Nose kit?

  1. #1

    Default Nose kit?

Mine has the usual rock chips, dents and dings from 75K of driving. The hood needs repainted as well so I was looking at nose kits. Which do you like for an 03? If I change it out it has to be readily available and paint ready so I can get it done in a week during the summer.

You looking for an OEM nose or aftermarket? I like the Bomex NB nose if you're looking for aftermarket. HERE is a link to some pics of my favorite NB ever with a Bomex nose.

Bomex is definitely cool. Leonard's car is what inspired me to go with the GV lip and eyeldis - back when his car looked like THIS.

I also like the Garage Vary full front bumper on the '01+ NB as seen HERE.

The only thing I would suggest is to avoid any fiberglass parts. They're typically not as flexible as OEM, so they tend to crack and chip much more easily. At least, that's my experience with fiberglass.

Get something that the kids like!

Then when you go places you can have the kids tell ya "dude your grandson has a sweet car"!

Fiberglass and Armadillos not a good combo!

Sorry you broke your fibreglas Iain,

I have been running a Fiberglass Racing Beat 2 since 2001 and nearly 100k.
No issues with cracks, even as low as I run. (Its pretty scraped up on the bottom)

(I did run into my hardtop rack 2 weeks after I installed and damaged it, but that was stupid and would have damaged any nose. I fixed it in 10 minutes with some resin)

I got backed into at the GAP 05 and would have thought i'd have cracks from that but did not.

I guess it depends on quality of the piece, but I am quite pleased with my Fiberglass RB2. (It also is the base for William's RB Aizawa)

The thing I like best about 'glass is it is so easy to repair and can be modified.
I am fixing to cut my RB2 up and make a completely different nose, and put another 100k on it.
(provided I don't try out the ABS in the garage again )

Barbara also put 75k on a Wings West half nose on her '92SE.
