Default A spirited run to the Underworld!!!

I was thinking maybe a trip from Allen or McKinney up around Ray Roberts and out past Eagles Canyon to Propwash. Anyone up for this?? Any suggestions??

Destination is just a few miles due west from Justin Texas.

    Miata Underworld!

Not sure if I will be going but if I am then I would be interested in a cruise beforehand.

Need to see if the kiddo can go to Grandma's that weekend. It all depends on if we catch the flu or not. Don't want my 89yr old stepdad catching the flu. At his age it could be lethal.

The party starts Saturday afternoon and goes on well into the night. I don't like to drive spirited country roads after dark so I was thinking an afternoon departure depending on the route selected.

I'd be up for a run like that! From McKinney, we could run up 75 to FM455, then take that west through Celina to Pilot Point, then meander around to Justin...

    Would this be too ambitious?

That's the three hour route I had in mind from McKinney. I'd be up for that but thought three hours may be too much.

What time frame were you thinking? For those that wanted to get out to Rogue's by mid-afternoon (3-4pm), we might time it for lunch break in Pilot Point. I'm sure there's a Sonic we could Banzai...

It would depend on the ride duration. If it's a shorter ride we may leave later. I was thinking meeting for lunch then go. If we do over two hours maybe have a pitstop midway. I'm really just trying to figure out what ride length most people want.

    I wanna long ride!

Another option could be to cut down through Krum at Sanger. That would prolly shave almost an hour off the drive time... but that loop up through Slidell and back down through Decatur looks mighty tempting.

I can't believe your going to suggest that route that is so close to Tioga and not go for BBQ on the way....

Carazzie and I drove out to Clark's in Tioga today for some bbq. The brisket was good, the rest was meh, the serving sizes were skimpy.

This sounds very tempting. Will be down for TDR@MSR all ready, just need to work a plan for the kids to stay with my folks again and such as we did for the Galaxy drive. May just be me. Anything settled yet about time, rally point, route yet?

Well shoot. We gotta friggin' babysit Saturday until at least 3:30 so the long run is out for us. Just as well since I will probably be tired of driving after Friday's track event. So... I think we're gonna swing by the Glass Cactus at the Gaylord for a beer and see if we see any cool Miatas. I understand the Cactus validates the parking. Then we'll head up north and take Justin Rd west to Justin then back to the track to see what's happening there. Then on to Rogue's from there. Hope we can get to the Cactus by 4pm but it will probably be 4:30.

Here's the route from Gaylord. 114 is the fastest but boring. Crosstimbers has lots of construction and cops. So I think Justin will be funnest route.

In two or three weeks maybe we can do a long run similar to the route Trickyrix posted earlier in this thread.
